BRATISLAVA, October 25, (WEBNOVINY) — The Ministry of Economy and Construction will continue to provide subsidies from the state budget in the future. The ministry has already elaborated a draft law on provision of subsidies, which counts on support for the mining industry, development of small and medium businesses, the use of biomass and solar energy, consumer protection, and development of industrial production and services. The ministry has further reported that the draft bill on provision of subsidies was elaborated based on the law on budgetary rules of the public administration, which states that as of January 1 of next year, subsidies from the state budget can be provided exclusively in line with a specific law.
Within the mining industry, the ministry will provide subsidies for allowance coal for retired miners, to secure or liquidate old mining sites, for mining activities stemming from the EU legislation, and for publication of mining-related materials. The ministry will support the development of small and medium enterprises within programs approved by the Cabinet, or corporate entities which secure administrative activities related to these programs. Subsidies for energy projects should be provided for installation of solar collectors in family and apartment houses, and for the purchase and installation of a biomass boiler in family homes. Within the support to industrial output and services, the ministry will be able to contribute to building infrastructure and public utilities networks, for geological surveys, or for buying out land plots for these purposes
Organizations, civic associations, self-governments, private and corporate entities will be entitled to apply for support. The list of provided subsidies and their volume should be published by the ministry on its Internet website, in line with the new law. If the draft is approved, all the ministry’s previous decrees regarding the provision of subsidies will become invalid.
