BRATISLAVA, Nov 5 (PR) – Skanska has signed a contract with Landstinget i Sörmland (the county council of Sörmland) on modernizing the Karsudden hospital, outside Katrineholm, Sweden. The contract comprises construction, rebuilding and a general modernizing of premises and technique. The contract value is about SEK 300 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the fourth quarter 2013.
The Karsudden regional hospital is the largest forensic psychiatric unit in Sweden. Skanska’s assignment comprises about 9,000 square meters of construction and 4,000 square meters of rebuilding.
Construction work will start immediately, with scheduled completion before summer 2016.
Skanska Sweden is one of Sweden’s largest construction companies, with operations in building and civil-engineering construction. The business unit has approximately 11,000 employees and revenue in 2012 amounted to approximately SEK 30 billion. In Sweden, Skanska is also active in the development of residential construction and commercial premises.
