SAX Share Index Lost 0.85 Points over Last Week

BRATISLAVA, August 1, (WEBNOVINY) – The official share index SAX of the Bratislava exchange lost 0.85 points over past week to be at 213.76 points on Friday. Its closing value is mainly attributable to shares of the energy engineering company SES Tlmace, with the price falling down 3.03 percent w/w to EUR 16. In contrast, shares of the pharmaceutical company Biotika firmed by a moderate 1.07 percent to EUR 12.28. Shares of the VUB Banka banking house posted a similar development going up 0.27 percent to EUR 75.5.

Shares of the Slovnaft oil refiner stagnated at EUR 53 while the price of OTP Banka Slovensko shares did not change from EUR 3 previous week. At the week’s start the SAX index gained ground going up by 2.11 percent ad firmed by an additional 0.49 points on Tuesday. However, it lost 2.3 points midweek. After it gained 0.03 points on Thursday it fell again on Friday by 1.17 points.

Overall trading volume on the Bratislava Stock Exchange last week was EUR 78.6 million. Thereof, anonymous trades totaled EUR 499,700, while trading in shares accounted for EUR 854,800. A week ago, the trading volume was EUR 48.9 million, of which anonymous transactions accounted for EUR 495,800 and share trading totaled EUR 388,600.
