BRATISLAVA, September 25, (WEBNOVINY)- The head of the coalition SaS deputy caucus Jozef Kollar thinks that if the European bailout fund is of such vital importance for the opposition party SMER-SD and the remaining three coalition parties as they declare it they should approve the rescue facility together in parliament. These four political parties hold jointly a comfortable, more than constitutional majority of 115 votes, according to him. “So please join your votes together – the SaS will never consider it a violation of the Coalition Agreement,” said Kollar on Slovak Television on Sunday. He added that by merging the bailout fund vote with a vote on confidence in the Iveta Radicova Cabinet the opposition SMER would be taken away the last chance to vote for the bailout fund.
SDKU-DS MP Ivan Stefanec does not agree with Kollar. He finds it necessary to look for an agreement within the coalition parties until the last moment. He underscored that the bailout fund has been approved by the Cabinet. “We know that we have signed the Coalition Agreement incorporating a commitment to support the cabinet that approved it. Also this is the aspect that will be taken into consideration in further negotiations“, he underscored. Ivan Svejna of the coalition MOST-HID thinks as well that a joint solution should be found within the coalition. “I would not like to speculate on other possibilities, it is simply necessary to discuss until the last day and minute in the way securing the coalition’s unity in this issue,” he said.
