VYSOKE TATRY, October 8, (WEBNOVINY) – “We are surprised by such a fast rejection and also that it went through the media. I thought we would discuss it,” said leader of the liberal member of the ruling coalition the Freedom a and Solidarity party (SaS) Richard Sulik with regard to the rejection of SaS conditions for supporting the EFSF enhancement at the party’s programming conference, held in Vysoke Tatry on Saturday. The SaS does not understand the reasons why Prime Minister Iveta Radicova turned down their requirements. Sulik expects to hear an explanation at the meeting of coalition leaders on Monday, October 10. The party’s leader and speaker of parliament added that if their requirements are not approved, the SaS will not support boosting the eurozone financial rescue mechanism in parliament.

The SaS chairman is prepared to look for a common solution until the last minute. “We will negotiate and we might find a solution as in some points we are willing to compromise,” Sulik said. The party’s primary goal is to protect taxpayers’ money and prevent massive damages. The first year of EFSF operation has shown that rules have been massively violated, Sulik emphasized.

Members of the SaS deputy caucus decided on Saturday that Jozef Kollar will remain their chairman. SaS was electing the chairmanship of its deputy club after one year, as agreed upon the start of the election term. SaS spokeswoman Tatiana Tothova provided this information.
