Police Thwart Drug Deal for 5 Million Euros

BRATISLAVA, March 24, (WEBNOVINY) – The police have thwarted a drug deal in value of more than EUR 5 million in eastern Slovakia. During the action, they seized more than 15 kilograms of amphetamine known as speed. This weight would be enough to produce more than 400,000 doses. A 40-year-old Turk Yalcin Y. was caught red-handed when attempting to sell a larger amount of caffeine-tinged amphetamine. He had a gun with himself, for which he had no license. The culprit was accused of illegal drug activities and unlawful gun possession. Members of the Office to Fight Organized Crime and the Presov-based Rapid Deployment Police Unit caught the man as he was trying to sell ten kilograms of the drug. Another five kilograms were confiscated in the subsequent search. Considering the price of the drug in countries of its common distributions, drug dealers could have earned at least EUR 5 million for 400,000 doses. The accused may face a 15 to 20 years imprisonment.
