PM Radicova Will Discuss Libya at Brussels Summit

BRATISLAVA, March 10, (WEBNOVINY) – Slovak Prime Minister Iveta Radicova is to attend a summit of heads of states and prime ministers of euro zone member states in Brussels on Friday. Radicova is planning to discuss the situation in Libya and unrest in the Arab states. However, it is not known yet what position she plans to present, as the spokeswoman for the Cabinet Office Lubica Pilzova did not disclose any further information to SITA on Thursday. The prime minister plans to inform the media after the summit is over. The event will begin with a lunch, at which EU leaders will discuss the humanitarian and political strategies of the EU toward the situation in Libya and northern Africa.

On Friday evening, euro zone leaders plan to discuss measures to fuel the EU’s economies, increasing the credit capacities of the European Financial Stability Fund and resolving the euro zone debt crisis. They will also discuss issues of economic governance in the context of the German-French proposed Competition Pact, which the countries presented at the European Council’s February Session. The goal of the special session will primarily be to reach an agreement on the basic elements of the pact, which should later be discussed by experts and politically adopted by EU leaders at the March European Council ordinary session.
