BRATISLAVA, July 12, (WEBNOVNY) – Slovakia’s new industrial orders grew in May at the two-digit pace. As the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic reported, the indicator increased 11.9 percent y/y to 3.271 billion euros over the fifth month of this year. The increase represented 9.3 percent in April and 10.1 percent in March. New industrial orders swelled in May also in monthly terms, by 2.3 percent from April. Since the year’s beginning the indicator has gone up by 15.4 percent to 15.787 billion euros.
After a downturn in the crisis year of 2009, when new industrial orders fell 19.9 percent y/y to EUR 27.157 billion, the indicator began gradually recovering last year. In 2010, new orders in industry grew 26.6 percent y/y to EUR 34.028 billion.
