BRATISLAVA, December 16, (WEBNOVINY)- The Friday congress of the party MOST-HID, a member of the outgoing coalition has approved its election program that it called ‘Only Responsibly’. Party chairman Bela Bugar told journalists that the program is based on four pillars that serve at the same time as a base for possible post-election cooperation with other parties. The first pillar is responsible policy while the second one is pro-European policy. The third pillar concerns responsible economic policy meaning that amidst a crisis ministries will not hand out fat bonuses or purchase new cars. „As we live in hard times it is necessary to save on the state’s operation and ministries have to serve as example to others,” said Bugar. The fourth pillar is cooperation between the majority nation and the country’s minorities.
The alternative for Slovakia is cooperation of parties that have been collaborated so far. “Next year difficult decisions are ahead of us. Every party that makes it to parliament has to be aware of these four pillars. The government will have to be stable,” stated Bugar.
At the congress Bugar also said that MOST-HID has been a member of the rightist coalition that grappled with difficulties. “Despite many problems and too short time I have to say that neither our government nor our party have a reason to feel shame,“ said Bugar. According to him the results of their rule show that the government has embarked on the right path and has started the right thing but, unfortunately it was not enough for one of coalition partners. “They took into consideration only their own opinions and caused the collapse of the government. I did not talk with them about it but I dare to say that colleagues from the party SaS have already realized what happened and if they could they would turn the clock back. But it is impossible,” said Bugar.
The election staff of the party and its expert groups are already intensively working. The party launched the first part of its pre-election activities, said Bugar. He specified that they had at least 20 rallies when they answered the questions on why the government fell, on achievements in the past period and what will be next. The party wants to pause its campaign on the last Sunday before Christmas and re-launch it after Epiphany, on January 11. Bugar appealed on all political parties running in March 10 early elections to do the same. Bugar said that they will have more than two months to succeed. “I believe that at the end of our efforts will be our presence in new parliament and on March 11 we will know as well whether we will be in the new government,” said Bugar.
