BRATISLAVA, September 16, (WEBNOVINY) – Effective as of Thursday, Transport Minister Jan Figel (KDH) silently replaced the senior management of two of the three state-run railway companies. Pavol Durinik has become the new chairman of board and Director General of the freight transport company Zeleznicna Spolocnost Cargo Slovakia, a.s. He replaced Matej Augustin, whom the minister dismissed in the middle of June of this year. Jan Andrejko was been appointed to the post of deputy board chairman, with board members Jozef Melnik, Pavol Misik, and Peter Pavlik. The company’s PR manager confirmed this information for SITA news agency.
The passenger railway transport operator Zeleznicna Spolocnost Slovensko (ZSSK) has a new board chairman and director general, too. Pavel Kravec replaced Milan Chalupek in the post. Kravec is also the head of the Transport Ministry’s department of railway transport and railroads. The company’s spokesman Milos Cikovsky confirmed the information. The company’s board of directors features also Pavol Gabor, Viliam Majda, Jaroslav Pavlicky, Jozef Rojik, and Pavol Tarcala.
Stefan Hlinka remains for now the head of the railway network operator Zeleznice Slovenskej Republiky (ZSR). Minister Figel criticized him on Tuesday for non-transparent and overpriced public tenders. The company’s spokeswoman Martina Pavlikova confirmed that the director general has not been recalled for now.
