BRATISLAVA, July 28, (WEBNOVINY) – The growth dynamic of industrial producer prices in Slovakia continues to slide. As the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic reported, June industrial prices grew 4.6 percent in annualized terms, compared with 5.1 percent in May. The indicator came down by 5.2 percent y/y in H1. Prices for the domestic market rose by 2.5 percent with no change on a monthly basis.
Regarding the domestic market prices, the Statistics Office reported y/y price increases in industrial manufacturing (+4.3 percent), water distribution, wastewater purification and drainage, waste management and related services (+4.4 percent) and mining and extraction of raw mineral materials (+3 percent). Then again, prices of electricity, gas, steam and cool air supplies decreased by 0.1 percent. In monthly terms, prices of electricity, gas, steam and cool air supplies rose by 0.6 percent, while prices of industrial manufacturing shrank by 0.4 percent and prices of mining and extraction of raw mineral materials by 0.3 percent. No change was recorded in water distribution, wastewater purification and drainage, waste management and related services.
Industrial producer prices in Slovakia swelled 2.9 percent on average since the year’s beginning, due to 5.8-percent growth in prices of water distribution, wastewater purification and drainage, waste management and related services. Prices of mining and extraction of raw mineral materials increased 4.5 percent, prices of industrial manufacturing 4.4 percent and prices of electricity, gas, steam and cool air supplies rose by 0.7 percent. Export prices dropped 0.4 percent in June versus May, as a result of the lower prices of mining and extraction of raw mineral materials (-3.2 percent), prices of electricity, gas, steam and cool air supplies (-2.2 percent) and prices of industrial manufacturing (-0.3 percent).
