BUDAPEST, September 27, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovakia and Hungary are prepared to warn each other about emerging problems in their relations in advance. Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda and his Hungarian partner Janos Martonyi informed about this after their press briefing following bilateral consultations on Monday. They called this an early warning system thanks to which both countries will inform each other about contentious issues that they are preparing to open in one of the countries.
Improvement of relations between both countries should be facilitated by restoration of work of joint Slovak-Hungarian commissions, which should meet soon. One of the themes that will be discussed at this forum will be the amendment of Slovak citizenship law. Dzurinda is currently working on its text with Interior Minister Daniel Lipsic. “We are looking for an optimum solution and we will find it,” stated Dzurinda.
