The Highest Average Wage was in ICT Sector in April

BRATISLAVA, June 10, (WEBNOVINY) – A report of the Statistics Office of the Slovak Republic released on Friday shows that the highest average nominal monthly wage in April was the information and communication sector at 1, 634 euros. The average nominal monthly wage in selected market services was 791 euros, 779 euros in industry and in wholesale 731 euros. In April alone, the average nominal monthly wage in information and communication activities grew by 10.4 percent, the highest increase so far this year.

The average nominal monthly wage in selected market services in April increased year-on-year by 4 percent, in industry by 3 percent in construction by 1.5 percent. On the other hand, nominal monthly wage dropped in wholesale activities and in pubs and restaurants by 0.3 percent.

The sector of information and communication activities recorded an average annual increase in real wages by

6.5 percent in April. On the other hand, real wages dropped in wholesale and in hospitality services activities both by 3.9 percent. On average in four months of this year, real monthly wage in information and communication activities and in selected market services grew equally year-on-year by 1.5 percent and in construction by 1.2 percent. In contrast, in hospitality services real wages dropped by 3.3 percent from January to April.
