According to him, the candidate list for the March elections is a good result. He finds it important to give space to new blood. Lipsic thus refuted information brought by the media that he was considering quitting politics.
After the council meeting, Figel announced KDH priorities for the next period. They will include the fight against corruption and for transparency, thorough justice, stopping the growth of the country’s debt, and improving tax collection. Another priority will be preserving economic and employment growth, as well as responsible solidarity in the sectors of social services, health care and education. “We will continue to protect and support institutes such as marriage and family,” Figel stressed.
Furthermore, the KDH Council condemned the activities of some representatives of the Medical Trade Union Association, who have taken patients hostage, thus threatening their lives and health. “They have brought Slovakia on the verge of a state of emergency. The council supports the forthcoming approach of the Health Ministry and Cabinet,” Figel said.
