BRATISLAVA, June 25, (WEBNOVINY)- Worries of the shadow cabinet [of SMER-SD] about activities of the legitimately elected cabinet are touching but not necessary, states the Cabinet Office in its stance from Saturday. It reacted to the opposition leader, MP Robert Fico who said that the Cabinet does not work hard. He says that it mostly judges draft laws submitted by MPs. “Robert Fico should know that proposing bills is the legitimate right of parliamentary deputies, anchored in the constitution,” reads the stance.
The Cabinet Office says that figures speak clearly of the Cabinet’s load. In the first year of the era of Iveta Radicova her Cabinet approved 134 draft laws, which is 36 more than in the first year of the Robert Fico government. Of the approved drafts 18 were deputy initiatives while the previous cabinet approved 21 deputy proposals for the same period.
In the yet-unfinished year in of the current government, parliament approved 92 draft laws submitted by the Cabinet., In the first year of the government of Robert Fico parliament passed 66 cabinet drafts, which is 26 fewer. The Cabinet Office adds that the comparison of legislative activities of both cabinets shows that MP Fico again cheats and manipulates the public. Such purposive and cheating statements can come only from the shadow environment, maintains the Cabinet Office.
