BRATISLAVA, April 6, (WEBNOVINY) — Economy Minister Juraj Miskov (SaS) plans a business mission to selected countries in Asia in April. The ministry has informed India’s Ambassador to Slovakia Rajiv Misra about his plan, as India is one of the countries which the minister and Slovak entrepreneurs would like to visit. “The ambassador gladly received the information on the prepared business mission to India and promised the embassy’s help in its conduct,” reported the Economy Ministry.

Considering the volume of trade, India is among Slovakia’s most important trade partners outside Europe. The ministry adds that after China, South Korea, and Japan, India is the fourth most important trade partner on this continent.

The trade exchange between Slovakia and India has a growing tendency, when the volume rose from over EUR 170 million in 2008 to EUR 230 million last year. Slovakia’s trade balance is, however, significantly negative, when last year’s exports reached EUR 71.8 million on imports of EUR 160.8 million. The deficit in trade with India thus represented EUR 89.1 million last year.
