BRATISLAVA, February 3, (WEBNOVINY) – On Monday, the Coalition Council will debate the proposal of SaS leader and Speaker of Parliament Richard Sulik to dismiss Robert Fico from the post of Deputy Speaker of Parliament. “ If it were up to me, I would sack Fico. I was pleasantly surprised that OKS deputies seized the idea and are suggesting to go ahead with it. It is worth going for it when a coalition majority is secured. I will submit this proposal to the Coalition Council, because that person was knowingly causing huge damages to Slovakia by knowingly letting parliament pass two unconstitutional bills, on which the Constitutional Court ruled,” Sulik told the press on Thursday.
According to Sulik, Fico knew exactly that the law limiting the use of profit generated by health insurance companies and the law allowing highway construction on land the state does not own are unconstitutional and did not bother to come to the court to present his arguments. “If he was feeling he might be right, who would have gone there. He cowardly avoided it. With that, he just confirms that he knew in advance that the cases were already lost. He did at full consciousness. He had been warned several times that those steps were unconstitutional. There is no reason why a person who knowingly causes such damages should be deputy speaker of parliament,” Sulik said.
