TRNAVA/PATA, August 24, (WEBNOVINY) — Twenty-three wild boars were killed when they were hit by a MB Actros truck traveling on the R1 road in the direction from Nitra to Trnava in western Slovakia. The accident happened near the village of Pata shortly after 2.30 a.m. on Tuesday night. Firefighters from Galanta and Sered helped remove the carcasses which covered the road over a hundred meters. The R1 road had to be closed in one direction until 4.08 a.m. because of the clearing works, spokesperson for the Regional Directorate of the Firefighting and Rescue Corps in Trnava Ivan Petko informed SITA.
