BRATISLAVA, November 12, (WEBNOVINY) – The Cabinet on Friday gave the go-ahead to the revision to the Labor Code, which will amend provisions governing the return of employees to work after parental leave. The Labor Ministry submitted the draft revision with the aim to transpose respective EU directives into the Slovak labor laws. Employees returning to work after parental leave should work at least under terms that are not less favorable than the terms applied at the time before they quit for parental leave.
The concerned staff members should also have the title to benefits from any working condition improvements that they would enjoy if they did not take parental leave. It is suggested that an employee returning after parental leave be entitled to ask for his/her original position and workplace, reads the approved blueprint.
