BRATISLAVA, January 29, (WEBNOVINY) — The private security service, which protects the Bratislava Airport, already has a license, after it apparently worked without one for almost a month. Bratislava Police spokeswoman Petra Hraskova informed SITA news agency that on Friday the Regional Police Headquarters in Bratislava completed the administrative procedure for granting a licenses and issued a new license as well as new firearms license for the security service. At the same time, police began to examine whether laws were not violated on arms and ammunition, and on private security services.
Police also began administrative proceedings against the security service, which has failed to apply for a license before its validity expired at the end of last year. „We are examining whether the security service had legal authorization for possession of firearms and ammunition.,“ said the spokesperson.
According to the police spokesperson, findings from the inspection indicate that an administrative offense may have been committed, a violation of the law on forearms and ammunition. If this suspicion is proven, the security service can be fined by up to EUR 33,193 for each violation, i.e., for providing security services without a license and for possession of unlicensed firearms.
