BRATISLAVA, June 24, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikulas Dzurinda will again get on his bicycle this weekend. Together with Austrian and Hungarian Ministers of Foreign Affairs Michael Spindelegger and Janos Martonyi, they will go on a bike tour on Saturday. „The Slovak and Austrian ministers will start the bike tour at the Fountain of Three Rivers in the Austrian town of Berg near the Slovak border. Then, after a short refreshment stop in Bratislava, they will continue to the Hungarian village of Rajka near the border between Slovakia and Hungary, where Hungarian Minister Martonyi will welcome them,“ press department of the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry told SITA news agency.

By this event, the three ministers want to show their support for the Danube Strategy, agreed upon by regions along the Danube River. Its aim is to strengthen and streamline cooperation between these regions especially in transport, energy, environment and navigability of the river along its entire length. As the Foreign Ministry further reported, almost 115 million people in the Danube area and the strategy covers all European countries along the Danube River – Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine.
