BRATISLAVA, December 17, (WEBNOVINY) — The Ministry of Economy is starting a struggle for free enterprise in Slovakia. The ministry has already drawn up 25 points that must be implemented to improve the business environment, according to Economy Minister Juraj Miskov. “It is five minutes after twelve for us to do something,“ said Miskov at the meeting with journalists. He said that if necessary measures were implemented in the Slovak legislation, Slovakia would be the leaper of the year in world charts evaluating enterprise in individual countries.
The Ministry of Economy proposes, for example, introduction of unified office hours at offices nationwide to improve the business environment. The ministry also wants to decrease the volume of obligatory equity capital of limited liability companies to EUR 1. The minister thinks that it would be good for businessmen to introduce a principle, according to which legislation regulating taxes, social and health insurance funds contributions and other business provisions would only be amended once a year, with effectiveness as of January 1. Miskov also said that the ministry would try to enforce increase in the limit from which the duty arises to pay income tax in advance. The minister also believes that a measure, according to which businessmen would not be sanctioned before the first warning, would help the business environment. The ministry plants to implement all the necessary steps next year.
