BRATISLAVA, October 9, (WEBNOVINYI) – Prime Minister and deputy leader of the SDKU-DS party Iveta Radicova is prepared to again run for the post of deputy leader of the SDKU-DS party at the party’s November congress, if the party members want her to. She confirmed this in an interview for SITA news agency. Radicova added that she has not yet discussed the matter with SDKU-DS chairman Mikulas Dzurinda. At present, she dedicates as much time as her capacity allows it to carrying out the role of the party deputy chairwoman, she said. Radicova added that it means that she is helping as much as she can in preparations for the upcoming regional elections.
The prime minister stated that she supports Dzurinda’s candidacy for the post of party chairman. In reply to the question of whether she will call on the congress delegates to support Dzurinda, she said that it does not work like that and delegates vote according to their own conscience.
According to the prime minister, the SDKU-DS has a large part of its election program incorporated in the government’s program statement. Therefore, the main task for ministers in the Cabinet as well as for the party’s structures at the moment is to fulfill the government’s program statement, she concluded.
