BRATISLAVA, September 7, (WEBNOVINY) — The Slovak Parliament will debate the opposition motion to dismiss its Speaker Richard Sulik at its sixth session starting at 14:00 on Wednesday. The motion was filed by the opposition party SMER-SD. „There exist some very clear constitutional frameworks that define responsibilities and relations, by which not only parliament but also the Slovak Republic is represented, which Mr. Sulik as new Speaker of Parliament is damaging, and therefore we are submitting this proposal,“ said Pavol Paska of SMER-SD when he submitted the motion.
According Paska, some of the attitudes Sulik toward constitutional acts cannot ignored, such as a referendum as the highest form of direct democracy, and some nuances, which are significantly harming the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Parliament in the eyes of our European partners.
SMER-SD criticized the Speaker of Parliament for a lacks respect for anyone and accused him of damaging and insulting constitutional institutes in Slovakia like no one else before him. SMER-SD thinks that Sulik should be ousted because his party the SaS, which initiated the referendum to be held on September 18, has not nominated any representative to the Central Commission for the Referendum;
