RUZOMBEROK, November 13, (WEBNOVINY)- SMER-SD leader Robert Fico warned the ruling coalition after his re-election at the party congress on Saturday that he has enough materials to be able to answer coalition offenses. “The coalition scandalizes and criminalizes SMER to cover up its ruling. We are not interested in political slanging matches. However, invectives will be uncompromisingly answered. We have enough materials,” said Fico at a news conference after the congress ended. However, he added that political parties are not law enforcement bodies. Fico underscored his party has information from the time when it was in power but he wants that law enforcement organs deal with. Fico minds that representatives of the coalition present themselves as moral authorities and listed the scandals, which happened in the era of Mikulas Dzurinda.
Fico offered the government cooperation in fighting the crisis. According to him SMER is ready to support rational proposals. It will come up with alternative draft bills bit will not assist privatization.
The old-new SMER leader said that the party wants to succeed in the upcoming regional elections. It wages a nationwide campaign as it considers municipalities important.
According to Fico, SMER is a party which does not burden itself with internal problem and is stable, with numerous experts. SMER is a big party with over 17,000 members, which has nominated more than 12,000 candidates to local parliaments.
Fico believes that his party has 45-percent election potential and wants to use it and mobile voters before the next elections.
