BRATISLAVA/DUBROVNIK, July 9, (WEBNOVINY)- At the Croationa summit in Dubrovnik on Saturday Slovak Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda reminded Croatia of its new task in the western Balkans region that it will have as a future EU member. At the event ‚New Decade for Southeastern Europe – Finalizing of Transition” he highly praised Croatia’s success on its path to the European Union and the closure of its accession talks on June 30.

The Slovak Foreign Ministry press department cited Dzurinda as saying that Slovakia has always been convinced about Croatia’s ability to fulfill membership conditions. “We are extremely pleased by this success of Croatia,“ said Dzurinda.

The country will hold the EU entry referendum before joining the bloc, which is expected in July 2013, after the accession treaty is signed and ratified by all 27 member countries.
