The economy ministry has drawn up the amendment to the Act on National Nuclear Fund which will increase the contributions to the Fund for Slovenske Elektrarne and introduce contributions for the state-owned JAVYS.
Slovakia will have more funds for the back-end of the fuel cycle next year. The economy ministry has drawn up the amendment to the Act on National Nuclear Fund which will raise the contributions to the Fund for the operators of nuclear facilities. Under the amendment, companies that own nuclear facilities but do not generate electricity will also be obliged to pay contribution. The National Nuclear Fund is to receive an additional sum of more than 31 million euros in the years 2019 – 2021. This increase will affect two companies. Slovenske Elektrarne which owns and operates nuclear units and the state-owned company Jadrova a Vyradovacia Spolocnost JAVYS which owns nuclear facilities that are to undergo the decommissioning process. In the next three years, Slovenske Elektrarne will pay an additional sum of 17.7 million euros and JAVYS a sum of 13.4 million euros for the back-end of the fuel cycle.
