The project of the new nuclear power plant in Jaslovske Bohunice could become a reality in eighteen years. Economy Ministry’s State Secretary Karol Galek said in an interview for the SITA newswire, the project of the new nuclear installation, on which the company Jadrova Energeticka Spolocnost Slovenska (JESS) is working, is still alive. „After years of stalling and serving as a bonus for family members of some politicians, the project is finally taking on realistic contours. However, even if it obtains the necessary permits, its commissioning is planned for 2039 at the earliest,“ said Galek. Instead of the new nuclear power plant, a 60-million-euro solar park is to erect temporarily in Jaslovske Bohunice.
