SPP and employers from RUZ propose lifting the regulation of gas prices for some households and small companies.
The regulation drawn up by the Regulatory Office for Network Industries which lays down the regulation of natural gas prices for households and small companies is to come into force in Slovakia as of July 2018. The regulator is currently assessing the comments received during the interdepartmental review. Power companies, experts and laymen made 100 comments, while 62 were crucial. The largest gas supplier Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel proposed to the regulator to cancel the price regulation of natural gas prices for some households. “The price regulation of gas deliveries should apply to a household with the overall gas consumption up to 42,760 kWh for the 12 consecutive months. Consumers with higher annual consumption are ranked into the group of consumers with large houses and extremely high consumption who use gas to heat also pools. This group of people do not need protection of price regulation,“ SPP said.
