BRATISLAVA, May 27, (WEBNOVINY) — The new party of former prominent member of the opposition Slovak National Party (SNS) Anna Belousovova should be called Nation and Justice (NAS). Belousovova announced this at a news conference held in parliament on Friday. The petition to collect the required 10,000 signatures for establishing a political party is starting, too. “Until now, there has not been a political power representing the new political trend and able to respond to existing challenges in Slovakia. There will be one now!”, she stated.
With regard to desired election results, Belousovova said from five to one hundred percent, but she did not want to speculate about future coalition partners, as it is too soon. “We will be able to choose from those who will be in parliament; we have to be able to offer something,” she remarked. She promised her future colleagues that the party will always be transparent and principled. Belousovova added that she does not plan to recruit members from other political parties, but said she would not reject them either.
In the fall of 2010, Belousovova ran for the post of SNS leader at the party congress, but was expelled from the party in February of this year after twenty years of membership.
