BRATISLAVA, April 19, (WEBNOVINY) — After Easter, opposition SMER-SD will submit a proposal to parliament for a no-confidence vote to oust Prime Minister Iveta Radicova. If thirty MPs request it, Speaker of Parliament Richard Sulik must convene an unscheduled session. As SMER-SD Chairman Robert Fico said at on Tuesday’s press conference, the reason to oust Prime Minister Radicova is that she is the greatest liar in the history of Slovak politics.

According to Fico, renting the Kosice building to the Tax Directorate is a textbook example of party cronyism and SDKU-DS thievery. “For the entire week, we’ve been witness to lies and sweeping of the case under the carpet. Today, the decision came, after which Radicova no longer deserves the right to be prime minister,” said Fico. He emphasized that in the past Radicova cheated in a vote in parliament and also cheated Slovakia with promises that no tax rates would be raised. “After today’s secret agreement, we have to say that Radicova has definitely become part of the SDKU-DS structures that launder money from privatization,” the former prime minister claimed. According to him, the entire coalition is ridiculous and subservient to the SDKU, if they accept the agreement that the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) should audit the case of a building’s rental in Kosice. “Radicova does not deserve our respect as prime minister,” added Fico. He claimed it was in Radicova’s competence to sack Finance Minister Miklos. “What should the NKU audit? That Mikulcik goes skiing with Miklos?” he asked.

The Supreme Audit Office (NKU) will be the authority to resolve the current dispute between Prime Minister Iveta Radicova and Finance Minister Ivan Miklos. Both agreed to accept the results of the audit on the case. “The prime minister, finance minister and SDKU-DS chairman will closely watch and evaluate the continued process of providing headquarters for the Kosice Tax Office as well as the course of the NKU audit, for which the prime minister asked Speaker of Parliament Richard Sulik,” said SDKU-DS Chairman Mikulas Dzurinda after Tuesday’s session of the party’s leadership. Dzurinda added that they would evaluate the audit’s results and will take a joint position toward them.
