BRATISLAVA, January 11, (WEBNOVINY) – Leader of the strongest coalition party SDKU-DS and head of the Slovak diplomacy Mikulas Dzurinda has announced that as much of the government program statement should be implemented this year as possible. He promised utmost support to the Prime Minister Iveta Radicova (SDKU-DS) on behalf of the party. “SDKU-DS wants to be a strong and stable pillar of the ruling coalition,” Dzurinda told journalists on Tuesday.

Responsibility and spending cuts remain the core priority, underscored the minister, since the lack of liability has driven the world into the debt crisis. Dzurinda at the same time expects that also the citizens will be responsible and will not demand from the state more than it is able to provide them.

Prime Minister and SDKU-DS Deputy Chairwoman Iveta Radicova has highlighted that her Cabinet went through a difficult six-month period while the upcoming time will not be less demanding but she maintains to remain a prime minister honest with the citizens. According to her, the fact that the EU is in the epicenter of the crisis must not be disregarded. On this occasion, she named priorities of her team including budgetary responsibility, creation of new jobs, war on corruption, a far-reaching reform of the education sector, arrival of new investments, improvement of the business environment and the reform of the judiciary. “So that in two years we will be able to say that the crisis period is over and that from now on, we can dedicate the attention to improving the quality of life,” she added.

Dzurinda attributes an important role to the collaboration with the coalition partners through a high-quality dialogue while the parties will refrain from exchanging messages in the media. Regarding his party, Dzurinda opines that SDKU should deal with changing its statutes.
