Economy Minister Petre Ziga can imagine that SPP would turn into a company similar to powerful energy companies in neighboring countries.
The state-owned company Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) is expected to take over more duties. Under preliminary plans, SPP will turn into the state energy holding which was agreed by the former and current government. The state’s shares in other power companies such as distribution companies or heating companies should be transferred into SPP. “The analysis has been finished. We do not want to have only the gas part under the most powerful energy company SPP which is in our hands, but also the energy part,“ Economy Minister Peter Ziga said at the press conference on Thursday. Ziga can imagine that SPP would turn into a company similar to powerful energy companies in neighboring countries such as CEZ, MOL or OMV.
