SPP is expecting its market share on the retail electricity market to reach more than 8 percent in 2018.

The state-owned gas company Slovensky Plynarensky Priemysel (SPP) raised its market share again after roughly a decade since the gas market liberalization. According to the information available, SPP’s share reached 56 percent in 2016, while 57 percent in 2017. According to the estimates, last year’s market share is to reach 58 percent. The exact figure will probably be revealed in the coming weeks. “Last year, our client portfolio continued growing. The number of customers that we supply with gas and electricity has been growing for several consecutive years. In 2018, the company raised its market share on the gas market for the second time in a row y/y,“ a spokesman for SPP Ondrej Sebesta informed the portal vEnergetike.sk. The state company is strengthening its position on the electricity market. SPP is expecting its market share on the retail electricity market to reach more than 8 percent in 2018.
