Economy Minister Peter Ziga has not yet received replies from the shareholders of Slovenske Elektrarne concerning the meeting where the completion of the two nuclear blocks in Mochovce would be resolved.
The decision to complete the third and fourth nuclear block in Mochovce (EMO) was correct, Economy Minister Peter Ziga thinks despite project’s increasing budget and the extension of the deadlines. He was the state secretary at the economy ministry when the decision on the completion of both blocks was made. „We’re talking about two different worlds. When I was the state secretary, the electricity price stood at 70 euros per MWh. Today it’s around 30 euros. In my view, it was the right decision to complete Mochovce NPP. Under those circumstances, I would make the same decision today,“ Ziga said after the Cabinet’s session. He would like to solve the problems related to this project in January. “I have addressed the shareholders, but have not received any answers yet,“ said Ziga.
