BRATISLAVA, February 1, (WEBNOVINY) – The new party 99 % – Civic Voice is attacking the parliament’s doors. It is just 0.7 percent short of threshold needed to enter parliament. This stems from results of a telephone survey carried out by Focus agency between January 20-27 on a representative sample of 1,141 respondents.
The survey results further show that seven parties would make it to parliament. The opposition SMER-SD would win 41.4 percent of the vote and be represented by 72 deputies. KDH would be the winner among center-right parties with 9.4 percent and sixteen mandates. SDKU-DS would win 8.2 percent of the vote, meaning fourteen seats in the 150-member parliament. SaS would garner 7.6 percent, followed by MOST-HID with 7.2 percent, while both parties would occupy thirteen deputy seats each. Support for the new party Ordinary People and Independent Personalities of Igor Matovic increased on the previous survey by 1.6 percentage points and the party would win twelve mandates with 6.8 percent of the vote. The last to make it to parliament would be the SNS party led by Jan Slota with 5.6-percent support and ten deputy mandates.
Respondents were asked which party they would support if parliamentary elections where held the coming weekend. 16.5 percent of those polled said they would not take part in the elections, while 31.5 percent were undecided about their participation. More than a half of the electorate would cast their vote, whereas 11.4 percent of them did not know yet to whom.
