BRATISLAVA, September 16, (WEBNOVINY) – Slovak Economy Minister Juraj Miskov does not believe speculations on a new wave of crisis coming. The minister says that Slovak businesses are not pessimistic with regard to a potential crisis and are not worried about its return. “I don’t have a reason to question the growth of Slovak economy either, and I don’t believe speculations on a potential next crisis wave. Our businesses have ambitious plans that will bring new investments to Slovakia and create a lot of new jobs. Producers listen to real demand on the market, not speculations in the media,” the minister added.
Miskov went on to say that Slovak companies are doing well. He stressed that some companies have customers for their products for several years ahead. He mentioned KIA Motors Slovakia carmaker, which expects to open thousands of new jobs. It s launching a third working shift in early 2012 due to growing demand and production of a new model. The Economy Ministry reported that head of KIA Motors Europe Paul Philpott had announced this good news for Slovakia directly at the car show in Frankfurt.
Another carmarker in the country, Volkswagen Slovakia is to recruit 1,500 additional people for the production of a new model Volkswagen Up. Suppliers are expected to open hundreds of jobs as well. In 2012, Volkswagen in Slovakia wants to manufacture as many as 400,000 cars, which is nearly three-fold of current production.
The third large employer in Slovakia planning expansion is tire maker Continental Matador Puchov, which has been recording growing demand and thus plans to expand its production and hire new staffers.
