BRATISLAVA, February 2, (WEBNOVINY) — The OKS Deputy Ondrej Dostal (MOST-HID parliamentary caucus) welcomes that the opposition SNS party has post facto identified with his opinion, that a member of this “nationalist party” should not be the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Minorities. Earlier on Wednesday, the head of the committee, Anna Belousovova, was expelled from SNS. Dostal says that he will back her remaining in the post although she is no longer a member of the party that nominated her. Now the SNS can nominated another MP to head the committee. “I declare that I will stand up against any possible attempt of the SNS to remove Anna Belousovova from the post of chairwoman of the Committee on Human Rights and Minorities,” said Dostal.
When parliamentary committees were newly organized in July 2010, Dostal protested against the Human Rights Committee being headed by a SNS nominee. He considered this to be a bad joke. Belousovova perceived this statement as an insult and threatened him with a lawsuit.
