BRATISLAVA, September 11, (WEBNOVINY) — The GLOBSEC 2010 conference on security and foreign policy, which will take place in the Slovak capital of Bratislava on Monday and Tuesday, will be broadcast live on the Internet. Discussions with prominent personalities of international politics will be streamed live for the wider public at home and abroad. Live streaming of all panel discussions will be available at the official conference website www.globsec.org. Jana Chocholova of the Slovak Atlantic Commission informed SITA news agency about the event.

The main theme will be cooperation among members of the Visegrad Group, which after this year’s elections found itself in a situation favorable for a common procedure in several key questions. „Furthermore, Hungary and Poland will assume the Presidency of the European Union next year, and common approach would allow us to better shape the upcoming debate on the EU budget, as well as the energy sector, which troubles Central Europe,“ says Chocholova. The participants will discuss present urgent topics of security during the two days in seven panel discussions and two informal evening discussions. They will speak about changes brought by the Lisbon Treaty for European diplomacy, the preparations of the NATO Strategic Concept, the complicated situation in Bosnia or the consequences of the economic crisis on security and defense.

In addition to heads of diplomacy of the Visegrad Group countries (Czech Republic, Hungary- Poland and Slovakia), Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Minister Nikolaj Mladenov and state secretaries from Ukraine and Norway will attend the conference, along with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Leanca and other personalities from the government and non-governmental sector.

The event will take place in the historical building of the Slovak Parliament in Bratislava. It is organized by the Slovak Atlantic Commission in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Public Diplomacy Division of NATO and the European Commission Representation in Slovakia.
