Inspectors from the Supreme Audit Office have encountered several problems and risks associated with the fulfilment of Slovakia’s commitments to the European Union. Under these commitments, Slovakia is expected to reduce primary energy consumption by 20% until 2020.
Inspectors from the Supreme Audit Office (NKU) looked into how the state is adopting measures aimed at reducing energy consumption. The findings are not very positive for Slovakia. A spokeswoman for the Supreme Audit Office, Daniela Bolech Dobakova, informed that inspectors had encountered several problems and risks associated with the fulfilment of Slovakia’s commitments to the European Union. Slovakia committed to reduce primary energy consumption by 20% until 2020. „This has also been proved by the fact that only 12 methodical workers, who monitored energy efficiency and energy savings, carried out control at six state institutions,“ added Bolech Dobakova.
