BRATISLAVA, October 30, (WEBNOVINY) – Prime Minister Iveta Radicova, who on Saturday announced her intention to leave the SDKU-DS party after the early elections in March, does not know whether she will stand in the next presidential race. “I don’t know, I am considering it; I have had to ask myself several times where an acceptable level of compromise is; I hope I have kept my footing,” Radicova stated in a political debate program Na Telo of TV Markiza on Sunday. The prime minister does not wish to anyone what she had to endure in politics.
Radicova does not want to establish her own political party. “The word loyalty and the expression betrayal mean something to me,” she said and added that “I joined SDKU-DS, I am still deputy leader of SDKU-DS; from this point of view it is my party”. She does not want to follow the footsteps of some of her predecessors and establish a political party only due to disharmony or problems inside the SDKU-DS. Radicova expressed her conviction that new political parties should be set up with certain values and not because somebody doesn’t want to work with somebody else and has reservations to certain stances or opinions. “Parties should not be set up so negatively”. She still stands behind the election program of her party and its program statement, as well as offered solutions, which she considers rational. “When I come to a conclusion that these solutions need fundamental changes and that I have them, I think that is the moment to start thinking through whom and what way to push them forward”, the prime minister added.
