BRATISLAVA, December 22, (WEBNOVINY) — Eastern Slovakia should prepare to hear good news soon. SITA learned from Economy Minister Juraj Miskov (SaS) that a mega investment is heading to this “poor region”. „Something enormously big is in sight but I cannot give any details as it is a very delicate matter; we have developed maximum effort in order to facilitate the arrival of something very huge. We are really working on one big investment, Miskov told SITA. He only disclosed that the investment should be placed in the east of the country.

Minister Miskov is satisfied with foreign investors’ interest in Slovakia. “I am extraordinarily pleased. We managed to restart arrival of big investors just as we planned it. We are returning to pre-crisis figures,” underscored Miskov. The minister is happy that most investments in 2011 came to regions with the highest jobless rate. “We preferred regions that simply lack investments, concluded Miskov.

The Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) has concluded 26 investment projects this year the value of which amounted to EUR 517 million. The sealed investment projects should open from 2,600 to 4,400 jobs. Most already completed projects will be realized in Trnava County (6), Presov County (4), Banska Bystrica County (3) and Zilina County (3).
