BRATISLAVA, November 21, (WEBNOVINY) – Parliamentary deputies should spend a total of 66 days in the Parliament’s assembly hall in 2011. This stems from a preliminary schedule of parliamentary sessions for next year, which heads of parliamentary factions approved.
Seven parliamentary sessions are planned for next year, with four in the first half of the year and three in the second half of the year. The first session in 2011 should start on February 1, the next on March 22, the third on May 17 and the fourth on June 28. After the summer break, the deputies should again meet at a session on September 6, while the last two sessions should start October 11 and November 29. No sessions are planned for January and August.
In 2009, deputies met 57 times for regular, extraordinary and ceremonial sessions. This year has not been completed yet, as the last regular parliamentary session starts November 30. The deputies will debate the draft state budget.
In addition to parliamentary sessions, lawmakers also debate individual draft bills within parliamentary committees.
