BRATISLAVA, July 1, (WEBNOVINY)- The Coalition Council will deal with voting of KDH MPs with the opposition in parliament on Friday evening. The SaS initiated the discussion of coalition leaders after Christian-Democrats failed to support two drafts from the SaS workroom at the May session of the House. “The KDH with an increasing frequency allies with the opposition to push through its proposals, which is at odds with the Coalition Agreement,“ Speaker of Parliament and SaS leader Richard Sulik told a news conference on Friday. He wrote a letter to KDH Chairman Jan Figel to attract his attention to behavior of his deputies.
Sulik underscored that the voting of seven MPs from his party who did not support the government amendment to the Construction Act was not intentional. The only SaS deputy really intended to vote against the amendment, which Sulik does not see as a problem. “It is the constitutional right of each MP,” he said adding that in rare cases deputies from individual clubs have applied the right to not support coalition drafts.
Sulik said that the KDH’s reaction to halting the amendment to the Construction Act was hysteria. After the SaS obstructed the government amendment the head of the KDH deputy club Pavol Hrusovsky hinted that they ran out of patience with SaS attitudes and they will not tolerate everything. “If the SaS party thinks it will continue in this way and provoke the unity of the ruling coalition, then it is fundamentally mistaken,’ he said adding that the SaS erred during voting already several times in a year.
