BRATISLAVA, October 12, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovak lawmakers will vote again on an increase in the EFSF lending capacity and the enhancement of its powers. The Cabinet of Iveta Radicova, which lost a confidence vote on Tuesday, reapproved the annex to the framework treaty on the European Financial Stabilization Facility (EFSF) on Wednesday.

SDKU-DS leader Mikulas Dzurinda believes that the parliament could repeat the vote as soon as Thursday. MOST-HID Chairman and Deputy Parliament Speaker Bela Bugar does not expect any impediments, either.

Slovakia is the only member of the euro club that failed to greenlight the bailout revision in parliament. However, this could still change this week as opposition SMER-SD boss Robert Fico declared support for the rescue mechanism. He conditioned it by a previous approval of a constitutional draft bill to shorten the current electoral term. The achieved agreement states that early parliamentary elections will be held on March 10, 2012.

The Cabinet approved the same proposal as the one the parliament rejected on Tuesday.
