BRATISLAVA, October 26, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovakia is planning to benefit from the experience and support of Nordic states in innovation policy. “Since we want to achieve first-class results, we have decided to learn from leaders in competitiveness on the global markets, the countries of northern Europe. They are atop the innovation table and we would like to see Slovakia among these states in some time,” Foreign Affairs Minister Mikulas Dzurinda declared at the Slovak-Nordic Innovation Forum “Innovation Bridges”, held in Bratislava on Wednesday.
Slovakia wants to make use of the experience and support of Nordic countries to create a pro-innovation atmosphere in society, ensure top-class technology education and support active interaction of institutions and Slovak agencies active in this area with the external environment, particularly the corporate sphere. The country plans to bolster its competitiveness and employment via innovations and education.
The forum focuses on information exchange and launch of cooperation between Nordic countries and Slovakia in the innovation policy. The event has been organized by the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Embassies of the Kingdom of Denmark, the Republic of Finland, the Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Sweden to Slovakia and the governmental plenipotentiary for the knowledge-based economy.
