BRATISLAVA, January 11, (WEBNOVINY) — The smallest party in parliament, the nationalist SNS belonging to the parliamentary opposition, urges the government and parliament to seriously deal with the possibility of terminating Slovakia’s EU membership. The European Union starts resembling a grindstone that can sink us very deep”, SNS leader Jan Slota warned at a news conference on Tuesday. According to him, the crisis might mean the beginning of the end for the EU. “What is happening with the dollar and the euro might have a very miserable end,” he warned. He said that one of the Caribbean islands belonging to France has achieved that was exempt from the EU jurisdiction. „It will not be the first swallow, it will be the beginning of the end of the EU”, he said.
Slota also said that EU top representatives should not deal with Alexander Lukashenko but with Viktor Orban. “Not Lukashenko is a dictator, but Orban”, he stated. Slota pointed out that nobody is starving in Belarus and everybody has job there. The EU also should deal with the current Kosovar Prime Minister Hashim Thaci whom he called mass murderer. “The EU does not have any problem with Turkey, which has been oppressing the Kurds for decades. They do not mind the bloodshed in Africa either, but somebody minds Lukashenko [in Belarus] where 90 percent of voters took part in the elections. Slota maintains that the presidential election in Belarus was not manipulated but the US presidential election was.
Jan Slota was the only political leader in Slovakia who expressed openly his support to the re-elected Belarusian President Lukashenko though he apparently won in manipulated elections. „On behalf of the SNS, I congratulate you on the results of your recent presidential elections and your victory. I am personally confident that the vote was okay and I am glad that a man won who will feed the nation. And it is what matters!“, he wrote to the election winner.
