BRATISLAVA, August 25, (WEBNOVINY) — Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Mikulas Dzurinda will visit the region of Transcarpathia in Ukraine on Friday. He will meet Olexander Ledida, the Governor of the Regional State Administration of Transcarpathia, and will visit a local school with Slovak as the teaching language. Dzurinda also plans to meet representatives of the Slovak minority in the region. Visiting General Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Uzhgorod is on his agenda as well. “The aim of the visit is to support regional cooperation between the Trascarpathia region in Ukraine and eastern regions of Slovakia as well as to support the Slovak minority,” informed the director of press department of the Slovak Foreign Ministry Juraj Tomaga. The ministerial visit should also support the integration and modernization plans of the Ukraine. “It is an effort that will contribute to the creation of opportunities for eastern Slovakia,” said Tomaga.
