BRATISLAVA, January 2, (WEBNOVINY)- Prime Minister Iveta Radicova has turned down allegations that her party SDKU-DS, which nominated her to the post does not stand by her. “If I am not mistaken, at the last congress I was elected a deputy chairwoman of the party with a higher number of votes than Mr. Dzurinda’s support for chairman. It was my decision that I did not have an ambition to run for the top job in the party, but this choice is not evidence that I do not have the SDKU behind me”, Radicova told SITA news wire.

Radicova underscored that she also had felt support in the election leader primaries, in the presidential elections and added that the last decisions of the SDKU-DS club are also an indicator of trust and support.

The prime minister said that she does not have problems as well in the party leadership when it comes to discussions, decision-making and agreements prepared for the Coalition Council. She said that they have not had a single conflict yet regarding issues which were to be discussed on the ground of the Coalition Council. She underscored that it is of crucial importance that the SDKU-Ds representatives at the Coalition Council are unified and added that they act in this manner so far.

Regarding her relationship with the chairman of the party Mikulas Dzurinda Radicova said that it has two sides: (1) Dzurinda as the foreign minister in the Cabinet of Iveta Radicova and (2) SDKU-DS Deputy Chairwoman Iveta Radicova and SDKU Chairman Mikulas Dzurinda. The prime minister said she has been in permanent connection with Dzurinda. They call and send SMS messages to each other, as the current foreign agenda is really red-hot.
