BRATISLAVA, June 25, (WEBNOVINY) – The Republic Council of the Civic Conservative Party (OKS), whose four deputies made it to parliament on the MOST-HID slate approved an agreement on cooperation with the party of Bela Bugar on Saturday. Based on it, an OKS MP will regularly participate in meetings of the Coalition Council. Peter Zajac as OKS chairman is expected to attend coalition leaders’ meetings most frequently.
The agreement creates a framework of political relations between the parties. Based on it OKS and MOST-HID leaderships will meet regularly and OKS representatives will take part in meetings of cabinet ministers for MOST-HID. Zajac commented that the agreement means that the parties respect each other. It is an expression of the political reality in the coalition, he added. The OKS head however regrets that such agreement was not reached at the start of the election term. Zajac expects that the document will be signed shortly.
Zajac also said that his party does not have any tools to push for an agreement on funding with MOST-HID. The OKS demanded a portion of funds from MOST-HID that the party receives from state coffers for deputy mandates. However, party leaderships failed to strike accord on this point.
The OKS has also adopted a stance on the prepared tax and payroll levies reform. It proposes such parametric setting of changes that will secure that measures bringing simplification and more transparency in the system do not negatively affect any groups of self-proprietors and contract agents. The OKS claims as well it will support neither an increase in the capacity of the provisional European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) nor the establishment of the new permanent bailout fund. The party argues it cannot support the process, which presents irresponsibility of individual members of the euro zone as solidarity, the process which they believe leads to self-destruction of the euro zone and the EU as well.
